\n * Napol\u00e9on \u00e9tait le directeur Acad\u00e9mie des Sciences. Les relations entre Biot et Bonaparte \u00e9taient cordiales, mais distantes surtout apr\u00e8s l\u2019ex\u00e9cution du Duc d\u2019Enghien. Bonaparte le sut et lui refusa syst\u00e9matiquement la L\u00e9gion d\u2019honneur chaque fois que Laplace la demandait pour lui arguant que le scientifique \u00e9tait trop jeune. Le 30 octobre 1820, Biot, aid\u00e9 de F\u00e9lix Savart, montre que la force exerc\u00e9e par un tr\u00e8s long fil sur un aimant est inversement proportionnelle \u00e0 la distance.
